From Baltimore to India: New Prints, Big Milestones & What’s Next
A season of fresh fabrics, Highwaymen art, love-filled anniversaries, and a solo India journey that begins this November…
September has me in full go-go mode. After a quick trip up to Baltimore—my hometown and forever love—I came back with my heart full. This visit wasn’t about chasing inspiration, it was about something even better: spending time with my family. Being back with the people who know me best in the city that raised me always grounds me in the sweetest way.
Now it’s time to roll into high season, and let’s just say: I’m READY.
India Bound
In November, I’ll be heading to India on my own for two weeks of wood-blocking and fabric-dyeing classes starting November 6th. It feels like such a gift to carve out this time for learning and creativity, and I can’t wait to bring those ancient techniques back into my own textiles and wearable art.
Fresh Prints & Fab Fits
Behind the scenes, I’ve been quietly building new textile designs that are about to make their debut. Think bold, joyful, and one-of-a-kind. The next wave of gowns, skirts, cotton shirt dresses, lounge looks, and jewels are almost here. And with trunk show season upon us, I’m so excited to finally share them with you in person.
Mark Your Calendars
Another highlight this fall: the upcoming Highwaymen Show, proudly sponsored by Amanda James Gallery. These legendary painters are such an important part of American art history, and it feels very special to help celebrate their vision and bring their work to a wider audience.
Milestones & Gratitude
September always seems to hold so much for us—and while we know it’s a lot for all our friends, somehow we clumped it all together (non-intentionally, lol). It’s my birthday, my sober anniversary, James’ birthday, and this year we’re also celebrating 10 years of marriage. That’s a lot of candles and a lot of love in one month!
Life feels full, layered, and rich. I don’t take a single moment for granted. I’m endlessly grateful for the work, the art, the community, my family and friends, and the love James and I share. What a ride.
Let’s Go!
So here we are: settling in, but revving up. It’s go-time, it’s show-time, and it’s life in full bloom. Thank you all for being along for the journey. The best is always yet to come…
xx,
Amanda
