James Knill: Artist, Photographer, & Husband

Continuing the trend of celebrating local artists, this week I wanted to give the spotlight to my best friend, greatest collaborator, and husband James Knill.

James is a quiet storm. Strong but gentle. In all of his works there's this element of contradiction at play. He likes to play with your perception of things. When you look at one of his works, there's a dissonance that catches your eye. Something is alive about it and it invites the mind to figure it out. Ten people can look at one of his paintings or photographs and come away with ten different opinions. There's almost a playfulness to it. Like a fun riddle or puzzle, it wants you to take a crack at it. Whenever I look at one of James' pieces, I can see his connection to everything. There's this essence of life and how we're all connected that he presents in a way that you can't help but feel impassioned by.

You can check out some of his work in the gallery below. If you're interested in more of James' work you can check it out at his site here: http://www.jamesknill.com/

As always, I'd love to here about what pieces speak to you.
